Family
services With monthly family services being part of our worship calendar for some
time now, it would be helpful to have some feedback. Each month we send
out about 24 invitations to families whose children have been baptised
in our church. This is to keep the promise we make at baptisms – to do
all we can to help parents bring their children up in the fellowship of
the church, and tot let the children know as they grow that we are here!
Some of course live at the other end of the country, or further afield.
And some families have moved and with whom we have lost contact. But
these 24 remain and it is a joy to see families come in. I hope we offer
a service that is easy for all, we will continue to send out the
invitations and plan the services. These services of course are not just
for families whose children have been baptised here – but for our
community families, our family’s families. Please pass the word. And, of course, ALL our services welcome families and children. If you have not dared bring your family to church, then - I dare you!
JaM Jesus and Me! is our Sunday young church group meeting each week of term first in Church and then in The Paterson Rooms just opposite St Ninian's. Stories, crafts, activities - come and find out more. Age 3 and up.
Rock Solid A youth group for all in the parishes aged 11 - 14. Friday evenings in Glenriddel Hall, Dunscore from 7.30 - 9pm. Each week is themed with games, discussion and food. £1 a night.
SLYC (Skitter Lane Youth Club) New Monday Night Launch 25th January 2010 For 14 - 18 year olds this is simply a chance for young folk to meet up. Venue: Glenriddel Hall, Dunscore Call Dean 01848200322 for more info
